Basically my life seems to revolve around several different areas.
- Food
- Cycling
- Work
Food: all we ever seem to do is eat. While it would seem that this is really cool, because of #2 (cycling) I’m on a constant battle to keep the weight off. Also, it really seems as though food is much less exciting than it was when I started the quest for great meals. I’d say that it’s totally possible the really good food has gotten a bit normal, and thus, exceptional food is hard to find. Even so, I do a pretty good job of getting around and eating my fill. Obviously I have a whole section of this site dedicated to the various places I eat.
Cycling: I’ve been riding seriously since I was in college. I was much better back then when I lived away from home, had no discipline around school, and basically spent all my time riding my bike. It really didn’t hurt that I had rides like Mt. Baldy and Glendora Mountain Road in my back yard. I’d guess that I did 15-20,000 feet of climbing a week back then, and my fitness definitely showed for it. These days, I’m lucky if I get to ride more than 50 miles a week, and based on #1 (food) above, my gut seems to be the only thing expanding. I have a couple of places where I update my rides:
- About my new Carl Strong Custom Titanium Racing Bike
- About various rides and other thoughts
- My Motion Based account where I have GPS maps of my recent rides
I’m currently riding with Team Velocity in Fullerton, CA.
Work: You can read all about this on the panel to the right. I spend way too much time working, but I honestly enjoy what I do. In addition to my professional life, I have a fairly significant presence in various places on-line.
